The major cruise lines are looking for individuals with photography experience and an outgoing personality to work as on board photographers.
Responsibilities include shooting, processing and selling digital photography on board, including guest photos on embarkation, formal portraits, and taking pictures in the dining room and on the gangway.
Most cruise lines require photography candidates to have a minimum of one year of photography work experience or two years of formal photography work experience. Retail sales or customer service experience is also preferred. Here is an overview of how to apply to each of the cruise lines as a Photographer or Videographer.
Carnival Cruise Lines – They provide all necessary equipment such as cameras, lenses, flashes, media cards and uniforms. Send your resume and cover letter to [email protected].
Celebrity Cruises – Both Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean use the concession, Image Photo to hire and operate the on board photo department. Crystal Cruises – Paragon Pixels is the exclusive photographic concessionaire used by Crystal Cruises. To apply, complete and submit Paragon’s online application form. In addition, email your resume and a full length picture of yourself.
Disney Cruise Line – Disney Cruise Line uses the concession, Image Photo, to hire and operate the onboard photo department. You will be responsible for the cost of your uniform and the cost of your camera. To apply complete online application on Image’s website, attaching your resume.
Holland America Line – Ocean Images Photography is the concessionaire used by Holland America. To apply send resume and cover letter to physical address on their website or to the email address, [email protected].
Norwegian Cruise Line – Norwegian Cruise Line’s shipboard photographers are part of the Onboard Revenue department. NCL requires you to own or purchase a professional level DSLR and flash. To apply, send your resume to [email protected] with the subject line “INHPHOTO-NCL”.
P&O Cruises – P&O Cruises uses the independent photo concession, The Ship’s Photographer. To apply, complete and submit an online application on their website.
Princess Cruises – Princess Cruises advises potential cruise ship photographers to apply through their international recruitment partners. Princess provides all digital equipment and a state of the art onboard lab.
