Although the majority of the cruise industry is currently on pause, there are still over 120 new ships on order, being built and scheduled for delivery between now and 2027. Here are some of the cruise lines that have multiple ships on order.
Aida Cruises
Aida Cosma will be coming out in Spring 2021 with an additional ship joining the fleet in 2023. Each ship exceeds 180,000 gross tons and has a capacity of more than 2,500 staterooms.
American Cruise Lines
Later in 2020, American Cruise Lines will debut their American Jazz river boat and in 2021 another two vessels will follow.
Carnival Cruise Line
Although the Carnival Mardi Gras has been delayed until February 2021, they have another 180,000-ton cruise ship coming out in 2022 as well.
Celebrity Cruises
In fall 2021, Celebrity Cruises will be introducing their 3rd Edge-class ship. They will deliver a 4th one in 2022 and a 5th one in 2024. The Edge-class vessels are 129,000 tons and carry 2,900 passengers and 1,320 crew.
Costa Cruises
The new Costa Firenze was originally scheduled to debut in October 2020 for the Chinese market. According to Costa Cruises, that plan may be changing. Costa Firenze will most likely be redeployed in Europe for the balance of 2021. The Toscana is also under construction with her debut pushed back and expected to enter service later in 2021.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line has plans for at least three new 140,000-ton cruise ships, starting with Disney Wish in late 2021. Another ship will be delivered in both 2022 and 2023.
MSC Cruises
The MSC Virtuosa (181,000 tons) has been delayed until at least early 2021. They have additional ships on order, including the MSC Seashore to debut in August 2021. Their new World-class ship (205,700 tons), the World Europa will enter service in 2022. Between 2023 and 2027 they have nine additional ships on order.
Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line has six 140,000-ton cruise ships on order to be delivered between 2022 and 2027.
Princess Cruises
In 2019, Princess Cruises added the Sky Princess to their fleet. Enchanted Princess is expected to enter service in December 2020 and Discovery Princess in November 2021. Two LNG-powered ships will debut in 2023 and 2025.
Royal Caribbean International
In 2019, Spectrum of the Seas joined the Royal Caribbean fleet. In 2021, they will debut the Odyssey of the Seas (169,000 tons) and Wonder of the Seas (228,000 tons). Additional ships are on order for 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
TUI Cruises
TUI Cruises will be introducing new ships in 2023, 2024, and 2026.
Viking Cruises
Viking Cruises currently has 10 cruise ships (47,842 tons) on order with deliveries from 2021 to 2027. They also have two expedition cruise ships on order to be delivered in 2022.
Virgin Voyages
Virgin Voyages expects to christen their first ship, Scarlet Lady, in October 2020. They have another one due out in 2021, 2022, and a third one in 2023.
