River cruising has already started up for 2020 and many have open vacancies for cruise ship jobs onboard their vessels.
How to Apply for River Cruise Jobs
Some river cruise companies use their own corporate HR departments to hire crew while other companies use external hotel concessions, crew management and technical management companies to look after recruiting and management of their onboard crews. Some of the crew management companies manage more than one cruise line.
There are 20 river cruise companies, but not all of the companies or their crew management companies have job postings at the moment. Although, it doesn’t hurt to submit a resume to a company even if there isn’t a job vacancy on their website. Here are some of the current job postings for 2020.

They have postings on their website for Pastry Chef, Bar Waiter, Cabin Stewardess, Galley Utility, Hairdresser, Head Waiter, Laundry Steward, Chef de Partie, Executive Chef, and more. River Advice – The River Advice Group is a market leader with around 100 passenger vessels on European waterways, operated for ship owners and tour operators. The River Advice website has job postings listed for Galley, Front Desk, Restaurant, and Bar cruise ship jobs.
Crystal River Cruises – Crystal River Cruises has four vessels that cruise the rivers of Europe. They use their in-house manning agent, Crystal Cruises Manning to recruit for onboard cruise ship jobs. Currently they have a number of job postings on their website including Night Auditor, Night Attendant, Destination Manager, Utility, Assistant Housekeeper, Waiter, and Barkeeper.
Rivertech BV – This crew and technical management company recruits deck and technical officers and ratings for river cruise companies. They are currently advertising for the positions of Captain, 2nd Captain, First Officer, Engineer, Sailor, and Sailor-Engineer. Check out their latest vacancies on their webpages.
Rijfers River Cruises – Rijfers River Cruises operates five river cruise vessels. The Rijfers website lists job postings for Captain, Second Captain, Engineer, First Officer, and Sailor. Hotel vacancies for this river cruise company are recruited through Sea Chef.
