A virtual careers day at sea Open Day will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020. This is an opportunity to gain insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer. Warsash Maritime Academy (Solent University) will be hosting this virtual event which includes virtual tours, a variety of presentations, and the chance to talk to shipping and cruise recruiters.
Why Attend a Career at Sea Open Day?
If you want to learn more about choosing a career at sea, an open day will provide you with lots of information. You’ll be able to find out more about the training programmes necessary to qualify as a ship’s navigation, engineer or electro-technical officer in the Merchant Navy and the superyacht industry.
Warsash’s teaching staff are on hand to talk about the academic side of training. You’ll also be able to take a virtual tour of their campus and residences, watch a variety of general presentations and speak to their teams about accommodation options, applying and enrolling, student support, and funding.
Plus, many of the major British shipping companies and recruitment and training companies who recruit cadets will be available to give information about the career opportunities and cadetships they offer and answer any questions you may have. Exhibitors who have previously attended their open days include Carnival UK, Chiltern Maritime, Clyde Marine Training, Princess Cruises, and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. At the next open day, they’ll be looking to mainly recruit for January and September 2021 intakes.
