Regent Seven Seas Cruises operates five all-suite, luxurious, mid-sized ships that cruise itineraries worldwide. Their parent company is Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and they employ an international crew. They will debut a sixth ship in 2023.
Facts About Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Regent Seven Seas Cruise was formed in 1992 through the merger of two one-ship cruise lines, Radisson Cruises and Seven Seas Cruises. During that time, Carlson Hospitality owned the cruise line (Radisson Seven Seas Cruises), which operated out of Miami. They built three new ships from 1999 to 2003.
In 2006, Radisson Seven Seas Cruises changed their name to Regent Seven Seas Cruises. In 2008, Apollo Management acquired Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Prestige Cruise Holdings was created to manage the cruise portion of Apollo Management. (They also owned Oceania Cruises.)
Their ships visit numerous ports worldwide with an all-inclusive product that appeals to affluent, retired couples, predominantly from North America. Their brand promise is Luxury Goes Exploring. Additionally, Regent’s Club Mariner Youth Program is offered on select ships and select sailings.
In 2014, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings acquired Prestige Cruise Holdings, thereby acquiring Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises.
In 2019, Regent Seven Seas Cruises introduced a new spa brand, Serene Spa and Wellness. For the previous decade, RSSC used Canyon Ranch to run Regent’s onboard spas. The Serene brand is operated in-house.
