Previously named Emerald Waterways, Emerald Cruises has been around since 2014 offering luxury river cruises on Europe’s rivers. Its parent company and sister line, Scenic was already an established river cruise company. Emerald Cruises is a more budget-friendly version of Scenic.
Emerald Waterways made its debut in spring 2014 with two 182-passenger ships, Emerald Star and Emerald Sky. Between 2015 and 2019, they introduced six more river vessels. Emerald Luna debuted in 2021.
Emerald Cruises superyachts will be named Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara when they are introduced in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
