Scenic began as a domestic coach tour operator in 1986 and has evolved to become one of Australia’s most successful travel companies, now specializing in cruising.
In 2008 Scenic launched its first Scenic Space Ship (the term they called their river cruise vessels) on Europe’s waterways. Over the next 8 years, Scenic’s fleet grew to 16 river cruise ships. Today Scenic offers luxury river cruises on the waterways of Europe and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, Scenic owns and operates Emerald Waterways which made its debut in 2014. That fleet has nine river cruise ships and one superyacht.
In 2019 Scenic launched their first ocean-going polar yacht, the Scenic Eclipse (16,500 GRT). They have another polar yacht scheduled to debut in 2023.
