Sales Assistant positions include Liquor Specialist, Luxury Sales Consultant, Cosmetician/Perfumist, Premium Watch Specialist, and Jewelry Sales Specialist.
Managers oversee the sales, operations, personnel and merchandising of the stores. They train, counsel and motivate colleagues. They are responsible for planning and marketing promotional events, inventories and all administrative functions. They also process shipments, display all merchandise based on presentation guidelines and implement visual directives.
Sales Assistants play a big part in ensuring the shops meet sales targets and by providing the customers with an outstanding level of customer service – which means identifying their needs and responding to them quickly.

sorry to hear that your students aren’t having much luck with getting hired. Here’s a link to the agencies in South Africa in case there’s one you overlooked. Getting hired to work on ships takes more than the right education and training. Make sure your students understand the importance of customizing their resume and cover letter, persistence in follow up on their applications, English skills (written and verbal). Instruct them to all have passports so that they can list this on their resume/cover letter as well. If you/they have any specific questions feel free to post them on our cruise job forum.
