  1. Hi! i am a dentist based in mumbai, i have heard world cruises carry dentist onboard. however i couldnt find any positive leads online. i even own a portable dental kit and am ready to carry everything else! please guide me.

  2. I was wondering how long after the pre-screening interview do I have to wait until they contact me about the final interview? It’s been about 2 weeks now since I passed my pre-screening interview. It’s with Royal Caribbean.

    • Congratulations on getting an interview. at this point, I would send them a polite email thanking them for the interview. Express your interest again in working for their company. Mention your passport validity and that you are available as soon as required. You just want them to know that you are keen to work for them. Persistent and consistent follow up will make you stand out. Just don’t be too pushy.

  3. I would like some information on the rehire policy of royal caribbean I worked with the company for 10 years had some family and legal issues to deal with but would like to know about their rehirement policy, do you have any information about returning employee than you.

  4. hi cherly,
i am from kenya and there is no hiring partner for a cruise ship job , i would really like to work in one please help me get one even if its to do the interview via skype

    • Unfortunately, I am not aware of any hiring partners in Kenya. You may try to apply directly through a cruise line’s employment pages. Here is a link to our Cruise Line Employment Info.

  5. Just auditioned for Princess Cruise Lines as a vocalist but they didn’t provide any information about how soon we would know any results. Do you know how long the process usually takes or a way to contact for further information? Thank you!

    • Hi Cheryl,
If they didn’t give you any info regarding callbacks, etc., you could try emailing them at [email protected]. I suggest putting “Atlanta Auditions” in the subject line of the email. Politely explain that you were at the audition and you are just inquiring about the results. Make sure to mention in the email how interested you are in working for Princess Cruises. If you have a passport, make note of this in the email with a line such as, “My passport is valid until xxxx”. This will indicate to them that you are ready to work immediately.

  6. Hello, I just have one question, I had and interview for royal caribbean but I was not accepted, I think there was a word misunderstanding during the interview. I wonder if I can apply again for the same position or a different position if now I live in another country?
    Thank you

    • Hi Lara,
Royal Caribbean uses a global network of hiring partners to assist with their recruitment needs. Many of these recruiters (especially in Europe) look after a number of different countries. For example, Ismira is a recruiter for countries such as Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Check Royal Caribbean’s hiring partner list for the agency you need to apply though. You may also want to clarify with your original recruiter if there was some misunderstanding. If you get to the interview stage, there was something about you that they like enough to offer you an interview. Many applicants have never even been offered an interview.

    • Read the article How to Apply for Cruise Ship Spa Jobs for info on which concessionaires that each of the cruise lines use. Although Steiner doesn’t have any upcoming interviews, you can apply through their hiring partner in Mexico.

    • Although I don’t know of any cruise lines with hiring partners in Nigeria, wouldn’t hurt to apply directly through the cruise line websites if you see a job posting that matches your (engineer) qualifications.

  12. Hi John,

Do you know if Royal Caribbean recruits lounge entertainers (solo in my case) directly, or if they only use agents? The Royal Caribbean Productions doesn’t have any info on this, and they have not answered my inquiry.

    Thanks

    • They recruit directly. If you go to the Royal Caribbean Productions website and click on their “Auditions” tab, you’ll see on the right hand side “Submit Talent Information”. Click “Launch Form”. The form will ask you for your Talent Discipline. Select “Guest Entertainer”. The form will ask you to upload a headshot, resume and talent video.

  13. hi I’m John Pieras from Philippines, I want to apply as a cabin steward on a cruiseship. Can you help me where I can apply. thank you mam. God bless.

  14. Hello. My name is Anna, I’m from Hungary. I had an interview with Royal Caribbean and I’m soon joining one of the ships. I have a boyfriend and we would like to work together. He’s from Honduras, and the problem is that his agency doesn’t recruit people for Royal Caribbean anymore. However, he applied online approximately 2 weeks ago on http://www.rclctrac.com. Both of us have previous experience on cruise ships (we are barservers), and have all the necessary documents (e.g. visa, seaman’s book, stcw, etc). My questions are the following. How long do we have to wait until someone contacts him as he applied online? Is there anything we could do in order to make the process faster and to get on the same ship? Since we would like to work on the same ship as a couple, is it possible to make any kind of request on board or even before joining? Do we need any official document which certifies that we are a couple? Can you tell me whom we could contact for more information regarding our situation?
    Thank you in advance.

    • Hello Anna, my advise to you is to wait until you get onboard. Once you are onboard, you should try to speak with the human resources manager onboard. They may be able to expedite the process. As far as a document that proves you are a couple..this could be more of an issue. Even married couples find it a challenge to work onboard the same ship together. You would need to prove that you have been together (living together) for more than a couple of years. Utility bills with your names on them, a letter signed by a notary/lawyer stating that you are a couple, etc.

      • hi im rosalie nora from philippines i just want to ask because i already apply in steiner last 2013 and already pass the interviews i already process my documents everything is done and i already have my us visa, but i got financial problem that time so i canceled my application, and now i want to continue my application and start my career in your company what should i do..??? a very BIG THANKS for your reply.. :)

        • That’s great that you previously passed the interviews. If your C1D Visa is still valid, even better. Hopefully you explained to the agent that you were dealing with before about your circumstances. Because, now you should reconnect with this agent and explain that you are ready to join. Good luck

          • when will be steiner salon will conduct an interview again in Philippines for massage therapist?

  15. Hello. My name is YEVGENIY (Eguene). I’m looking for a job as IT-specialist(trainee) on the cruise ship. Thanks.

  16. hello my name is bashir i want to join cruise ship and i have all docoument f n b depatment can u help me how can i join ship

    • I want to thank you for your website and the help that you give people. Thank you for the time and dedication you put to helping people get information about getting cruise ship jobs. It was through your website that I got contact information to apply for the jobs that I got. I was very fortunate to be invited for interview by two cruise lines. I passed both the interviews, now I am having a hard time choosing which to go for. If you have information on which line is better to work for between Cunard and NCL I would greatly appreciate. Anyone who has tips and hints please do share. Thank you.

      • Ps. I would also appreciate information on how I can increase my chances of getting the US C1/D visa.

        • As long as you have a letter of employment from a cruise line, you can apply for your US C1/D Visa. Unless you have some type of criminal past or previous problems with immigration, you shouldn’t have any problems. Here’s a link to the US Embassies website, for additional info. Click on the region you are from to find an embassy or consulate near you. Additionally, here is a link for more info about C-1/D Visas (Crewmember Visas).

          • Hi. I am very sad that I failed to obtain the US visa. I have no clue what the reason for the denial was. Is there any cruiseship that does not require one to have a C1/D visa? I was given a letter which stated I could reapply, but I am worried that I would just be wasting my money.

          • All the major cruise lines that I am aware of require crew to be able to secure a C1D Visa. the reason for this is that at some point you may need to fly through the US in order to get to your ship to embark. If you were given a letter which stated that you could reapply, then you shouldn’t worry about getting one in the future. You shouldn’t apply for the C1D Visa until you have a letter of employment from a cruise line or you will be wasting your money, though.

      • Congratulations on passing both interviews! Both cruise lines are very reputable and either one would be a good choice. The next step for you is to get your C1D Visa and pass the pre-employment medical. You will need a letter of employment from one of the cruise lines in order to apply for your visa. With many cruise lines, although you are told you are hired, they may not have a ship/contract for you immediately. That’s when the choice between cruise lines may become easier for you. It may come down to which cruise line offers you a contract first.

        • hello,

    • Hi I am interested in applying for a job with disney cruise lines but I am 19 yrs old will be 20 yr in june this year 2015. Is there an age limit that you have to be before applying. Awaiting your response thank you

  18. Hi, I have a skype interview with Norwegian Cruise lines on Friday for the position of assistant Waiter. I need tips on how best I can prepare for the interview and what types of questions I should expect. I was told the interview will last about 15 minutes.

    • With any Skype interview, be aware of what your interviewer will see:
      1. Clean/organized space
      2. Ensure no technical problems by testing ahead of time
      3. No distractions (roommates, family, pets, noise, etc)
      4. You are well presented (dress for an interview)

As for the interview itself, there is a wide range of the types of questions that an interview may ask. They will expect that you will be able to explain various parts of your resume (which you should know without having to look at your resume). Be able to sell yourself. The interviewer will also expected that you know a little about their company. Other questions may relate to life onboard. Here are some sample questions to help you prepare:
      1. Why do you want to work on a cruise ship?
      2. Tell me about yourself.
      3. Why do you want to work for Norwegian?
      4. Why should we hire you?
      5. What have you accomplished in your past jobs?
      6. What difficulties do you think exist in an onboard environment?
      7. Have you ever had a roommate…describe the experience.
      8. What is your worst habit?
      9. Do you think you will be seasick or homesick?
      10. Describe a situation where you have had to deal with a difficult customer
      11. How do you give excellent customer service?
      12. How long do you intend to work on cruise ships?
      13. Do you have any questions for us/me?

This is just a sample. Practice answering the questions before the interview to get confident in how you will answer.

      Good luck.

      • Thank you very much for your detailed and timely response. It sure will help me prepare. Thank you for your website and great knowledge that you give away freely to cruise job seekers.

    • Hi my name is Jack and I am trying to get a job on a cruise ship as a bartender or waiter. I am 46 years old and I worked on ships before, as a waiter, bartender, bar supervisor and restaurant supervisor from 1992 to 1999 at DFDS A/S Scandinavian seaways. I am now living in Thailand, 10 years now, and I am thinking: is it possible for me to get a job or am I to old ? I dont feel old I am ready for this, any advice for me ?
      Thank you :-)

      • Although there is no maximum age to work on cruise ships, the truth is that there are some jobs onboard that applicants over the age of 35 may have a more difficult time being considered for.

The main concern for the employer is that the job-seeker is fit, both physically and medically. The other concern would be the applicant fits into a team of mostly younger crewmembers. Also consider that the days can exceed 11+ hours (on your feet all day) with no days off.

Since you’ve worked on ships before, this may work in your favour. Here are some links to the authorized hiring partners in Thailand.

        • Thank you, I am fit and healhty, no problem working 11-12 hours a day with younger people. I still feel 30 years old and will try my best to get a job at a good cruise company, any advice, what company to go for ? By the way I am Danish :-)

  19. Hi my name is juliet clarke and I am years old I would like to know if I am too old to apply as a housekeeper I am 45 years old

    • Although there is no maximum age to work on cruise ships, the truth is that there are some jobs onboard that applicants over the age of 35 would not be considered for, housekeeping included.

The main concern for the employer is that the job-seeker is fit, both physically and medically. The other concern would be the applicant fits into a team of mostly younger crewmembers. Also consider that the days can exceed 11+ hours (on your feet all day) with no days off.

You could try applying with one of the smaller cruise lines. Additionally, you could take a look at the hiring partners and contact one in your country of residence.

      • Hi i’m Joy, I am an educator by profession and been practicing it. Does my profession has any possibility to be part in a cruise line industry? If not what will i do? Thanks :)

        • Depending on the type of educator/teacher/professor that you have been practicing, there are plenty of opportunities for you in the cruise industry. If you have been teaching in elementary or secondary schools then you could look at jobs as youth and teen counsellor. To see if you like working for cruise ships (enough to make it a full time career), you could apply for seasonal youth counsellor positions with any of the cruise lines that offer child/teen programming. You can read the article, How to Apply as Youth Staff on a Cruise Ship for more info.

Alternatively, if your specialty has been educating adults, you could apply for jobs as an Enrichment Lecturer. Depending on the cruise line, this can be a paid position as well as a volunteer position. You can start by looking at the following Links.
          Princess Cruises – Enrichment Lecturer
          Holland America – Guest Lecturer

    • hi , i want to apply for a job in a cruise line , i am from Tunisia , i did pass the interview with pullmantur last year with KOUZON but i did t get my contract , i try to contact pullmantur HR department but no answer , cloud you help me please ?

      • As I’ve explained to you in November/December, Pullmantur no longer uses Kouzon as a hiring partner. Unfortunately, at this time I do not know of any cruise lines that have hiring partners in Tunisia.

  20. When wanting to apply to work on the ships, I strongly suggest you find a company where you can do all your sea fairing certificates before you apply, this will give you a ” strong foot in the door ” as the cf certificates are valid for 5 years it will also shorten your training once employed. Once you have decided you are set on working for the cruiseline industry the look at all the different cruise lines and chose which one you would like to work for based on you qualifications.vas they all request different levels of educations based on your positions once you have set your mind in this google the company on the site they will offer you a list of the agents they use in each country for the hiring process. Good luck further

  21. Yes I already looked at the web site with no luck with any company. This has got to be the most difficult industry to get a job with. I’m done I give up!

    • Getting hired within the cruise industry takes a lot of follow up and patience. You can’t expect to get hired, let alone get an interview if you don’t follow up after your online applications. It takes more than just the right qualifications and work experience to get a job on a cruise ship. It’s the applicants that are persistent and those that don’t give up that get the jobs.

  22. I am having a hard time in locating a job within the shipboard maintenance dept. I did 20 years as a shipboard electrician for the US Navy. Can someone please help me?

    • If you are an American, please refer to the Cruise Line Hiring Partners in United States. In addition, you could apply with companies that use US-flagged vessels such as Alaskan Dream Cruises, American Cruise Lines, American Queen Steamboat Company, Blount Small Ship Adventures, Lindblad Expeditions, Un-Cruise Adventures, and Norwegian Cruise Line (Pride of America). Check our Cruise Line Employment Information pages for links to these cruise lines.

  23. Good day,
I hope you can be able to assist me, I am a Zimbabwean currently working in Kuwait as a waiter. I have over seven years of waiting experience. My biggest challenge is that I am Zimbabwean and there are no hiring partners for cruise ships in Zimbabwe. I have made dozens of online applications but thus far I have had no success. I believe working with a recruitment agency offers better chances of getting hired compared to online applications where there is hundreds of thousands of competitors.
Would you be in a position to assist me with information on how best I can go about in order to get recruited. I have gone through the website and the links you provided but I am kindly asking for personalized advice, specific to my problem.
    Thank you in advance.

    • Unfortunately, I don’t know of either of these two countries having authorized cruise line recruitment partners. This doesn’t mean that they don’t recruit from these countries, though. My suggestion is to continue to follow up on the online application that you do submit. You could also try contacting hiring agents in South Africa and maybe they could give you some support or suggestions.

  24. Hii

happy new year, i’d like to ask if is it possible to pass the medical exam if i have tattoo on my sleeve and my leg?
    for casino dealer in carnival?

    • The issue of tattoos may come up in your interview if they are visible. Generally shipboard casino personnel wear a uniform that consists of pants and a long sleeve shirt, so I don’t think your tattoos would be a problem. Once you pass the interview then you do your medical exam, which is to confirm that you are physically and mentally fit to work on ships.

  25. Hi….

  27. Dear Sir/ Madam,

I see on the facekook of casino carnival Cruise for a date of Interview for Dealer at Ho Chi Minh city – Vietnam
    https://www.facebook.com/casinoatsea

Could you guide how to apply this interview by Carnival Cruise ?

    Tks and regards !

    • The link that you provided looks to be the Facebook page of Speedy Global Limited, who claim to be an approved Manning agent for Carnival Corporation Casino Division. I don’t know for sure if they are an approved manning agent. Typically, to get hired by Carnival Corporation Casino Division you should apply directly through their website, http://www.OceanCasinoJobs.com. When you are contacted you are in touch with a local manning agent. I checked the Ocean Casino Jobs website and currently they do not show an interview date for Vietnam (although they are in the Philippines in January 2015). You could use the contact information from the Facebook page that you mentioned, to inquire about the upcoming interview dates (January 21 to 23) that they have listed. The Facebook page states, “Mr Nguyen Khac Thu (Peter Raffle) 0902 242 325 …. is assisting with organizing the interviews locally”. You could also try to comment on their Facebook page, saying something like, “I am an experienced dealer and am interested in working for Carnival Corporation. How do I apply for a chance to be interviewed?”

For additional info, you can read the article, How to Apply for Cruise Ship Jobs in the Casino.

  28. hi, am shaine, i would like to know if there is a maximum age of recruitment on celebrity cruise….thnks for your reply…

    • Hi Shane, there isn’t a policy that I know of that restricts the maximum age of recruitment for Celebrity Cruises (note:the minimum age to work for Celebrity Cruises is 21). Although, you would need to pass a strict pre-employment medical exam that would reflect you are physically and mentally fit to work at sea.

  29. Hi. i am Jerome fenel, i am from Haiti. I’ll be happy to work in the cruise ship industry. How can you help me find some advice to know what to do exactly.

Thank you advance for your helping

    • Hi Jerome, first you need to identify which cruise job that you are most suited towards. Your resume and cover letter should reflect your work experience and education that is relevant to the job you are applying for. Most cruise lines use a network of recruiting agents throughout the world to assist with their hiring needs. In Haiti, I am only aware of Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises as cruise lines that recruit from Haiti. Here is the link to the authorized cruise line hiring partners in Haiti.

  30. Hi, I’m from Vietnam. I want to work on a cruise ship. However as a newbie to this area, I totally don’t know what to do, who to ask, what certificate and experience do I need to gain in order to get a job on cruise ship. All I have right now are high school certificate and English, nothing more. It is supposed that holding a certified qualification would boost my chance to get a cruise job.

I see you listed two institutions above in Vietnam:
    *Elite Hospitality Group
    *Vatel Ho Chi Minh
Could you tell me how did you find these two institutions ? because I want to search for some more places to see what place suit me most.
After getting a certified qualification, what would I suppose to do next? what cruise ship companies have representative in Vietnam that recruit new workers ? as I see only Star Cruises have hiring partners here.

    Thanks

    • Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any other cruise line that lists recruiting agents in Vietnam except for Star Cruises. Although, that doesn’t mean that other cruise lines don’t recruit from Vietnam. I just don’t have any details to put on the website. You could contact Human Resources departments at any of the cruise lines you are interested in and inquire if they have a hiring agent in Vietnam. Here’s the link to Cruise Line Employment Information. The two institutions that I listed below are just a couple of colleges in Vietnam. If you Google “colleges in Vietnam” you may find some alternatives. Look for colleges that offer Hospitality, Tourism, for Food and Beverage courses. You want to gain education that gives you relevant skills to cruise ship jobs.

  31. I am Harsul Minj from India . I am graduate and have also done diploma in travel and tourism. At present i am working at sarovor group of hoeltes as a guest service associate since two.and half years . So suggest me please am i eligible and how i can attend an interview for cruise line jobs

    • Hi Harsul, a diploma in travel and tourism along with your work experience will look good on your resume for a job in guest services. Most cruise lines work with a global network of hiring agencies in order to assist with their recruiting needs. Take a look at our Directory of Cruise Line Hiring Partners for links to authorized agencies in India.

  32. hi dear
i am a Tunisian i applied with KOUZON they have an office in Tunisia i passed the main interview and got the approval with RCCL 6 months ago , i am always in contact with the office about getting the contract they told me they are waiting for RCCl to send the contract , any idea about soon recruitment with RCCl

    • That’s great that you passed the main interview. Some applicants wait that long just to get an interview. As an official hiring partner of Royal Caribbean (the parent company of Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises), Kouzon needs approval to actually hire you. Consider that Royal Caribbean has numerous hiring partners all over the world all doing the same job, screening applicants. Note that Kouzon also recruits for other industries such as noted on their website.

You need to stand out to Kouzon’s recruiters in order for them to remind Royal Caribbean’s HR department about you. This means that you need to keep in touch with Kouzon, but not in a harassing way. You should email them every couple of weeks. In your email, be friendly and courteous. Write the title of the cruise job that you applied for in the subject line. (ie. RCCL – Guest Services Officer). Reattach your resume to the email. And, in the text of the email, remind them of your successful interview and that you are looking forward to working for Royal Caribbean. Here is the email address that you should be using:
      [email protected]

      • thank you , i contact Mr zoran the kouzon manger , he told me that he was in a meeting with RCCL in Miami , and he will inform me about the recruitment news this Friday , not just me there s more than 20 other candidates who passed the main interview and got approved by RCCL with me , we all are waiting for KOUZON to inform us about the recruitment info ,

        • That’s good to hear. But, if you don’t hear from him on Friday, make sure you contact him first thing Monday morning.

          • I’ve copied my response to another one of your questions here because it got lost in one of the threads below.
            RE: Pullmantur + Kouzon
Although Norwegian Cruise Line still uses Kouzon, it appears that Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has ended their partnership with Kouzon. (I don’t see them listed on Royal Caribbean’s hiring partners pages). Pullmantur Cruises is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and their cruises are marketed towards a Spanish demographic. (Some of their vessels are ex-Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises ships.) The recruitment partners that Pullmantur uses is the same as what you’ll find on the Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises employment sites.

Possibly, sometime while you were patiently waiting for Kouzon to get back to you regarding a job with Pullmantur, it appears that RCCL partnered up with various other agencies. You mentioned above that you are from Tunisia, check out http://pullmanturcareersatsea.com/pages/hiring_partners or try contacting Pullmantur’s human resources department, for assistance. Fleet HR Manager at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. brands – Pullmantur Cruceros is Duane Perryman.

          • thank you for you help , i did t find any email to contact MR Perryman , i don t know what wrong with my recruitment i got the approval singed by Perrine Debris since 04/14/2014 , kouzon did t explain , i already paid them for the STCW and the medical exams , i don t know what to do , maybe they will change my recruitment with anther company if that s possible , they told me to wait for the new year .

          • Have you already done your STCW course and taken your medical exam? If you have paid them and you haven’t taken the course or the medical exam, I would fine a complaint with RCCL. Send an email to [email protected] stating that your situation. Other than that, try contacting the human resources department of Pullmantur.

          • yes i finch my st-cw courses and the medical exams 5 months ago , but still no contract i can t do anything i already paid them , i guess the medical exams have a expired date , thank you for you help , i will try to contact pullmatur human resources.

          • The medical exams are usually valid for one year. Yes, you should try too contact Pullmantur HR.

          • KOUZON told me that pullmantur cancel our recruitment , do you know any companies that recruit from Tunisia ?

          • Sorry to hear that. Although I don’t know of any other cruise lines that have recruiters in Tunisia, you can still try to apply through cruise lines’ employment pages. Additionally, you should still try to get in touch with Pullmantur HR.

  33. Good day, my name is Tamon Pitt I am from Jamaica and I am a final year student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and hospitality Management. I am enthuse to work in the cruise ship industry, I believe it will give me opportunity to further my skills in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. Can you offer any advice as to how I can apply, in areas such as the Human Resource, Crew Administrator, Guest Service Officer or anything relating to Customer Service Agent. Thank you in advance.

    • Hi Tamon, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, you already have one the major cruise line’s requirements. Positions such as Human Resources and Crew Administrator would be cruise ship jobs that are typically held by crew that have already had cruise ship experience. Your best option is to apply for positions such as Guest Services Officer. For example, Royal Caribbean is currently recruiting for Guest Services Officer, and you can apply online via Royal Caribbean’s employment website. Additionally, you could check out our other Cruise Line Employment Information pages. Many of the major cruise lines use a global network of recruitment agencies to assist with their recruitment needs. Here is a link to the authorized cruise line recruiting agencies in Jamaica.

  34. Hi, Tks for your reply as soon.

I’m also looking a training Center for Jobs on Cruise ship at Asia country. Could you give me the advice ? Tks and regards !

    Peter Raffle

    • To gain skills in order to get hired within the cruise industry, looking to get a formal education will definitely help boost your resume. Look at colleges that focus on hospitality-type courses. For example, in Vietnam I found these for you to look into.
      Elite Hospitality Group
      Vatel Ho Chi Minh

Many cruise lines provide additional training for their employees once they are hired or while they are on their vacation (between contracts). There are training centers throughout Asia where your employer will send you to upgrade your skills.

For the time being, work on building your resume with work experience related to the job you want to apply for. Also, get in contact with one of the authorized hiring partners in Vietnam.

      • i email kouzon about my recruitment , they told me to wait , i got the approval with pullmantur 7 months ago , is the approval expired? how can i contact the recruitment responsible of pullmatur ? thank you

        • Although Norwegian Cruise Line still uses Kouzon, it appears that Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has ended their partnership with Kouzon. 36. Good morning to you! my name is Michee Legndre, and i am 23 years old. i live in Haiti and i applied for the job opportunity since March, and they don’t call me yet…… i just would like to know if my applied wasn’t in vain and if this Email was the good one. here is the Email that i applied (rclctrack.com). Thank you in advance for your response.

    • Hi Michee, assuming that you applied through the Royal Caribbean website, I would reapply since it’s been 7 months. Only apply through Royal Caribbean’s Royal Careers at Sea website. In Haiti, Royal Caribbean uses the Hiring Partner, Haiti Hiring. Royal Caribbean warns applicants of scams on their website so be aware of phony email addresses.

Haiti Hiring’s email address is: [email protected]

      Phone number: (+1 509) 2257-2859

  37. Hy i work before on cruise line as waiter , i try my luck in America and i overstayed my visa.CONCLUSION : i lost the both visas sow 10 years no visa for America, the question is what ocean Cruise line company hire without C1D visa beside the river company’s?
    Thank you.

    • Hi Luca, unfortunately overstaying your US Visa which resulted in you losing your visa will hurt your future chances of working in the cruise industry. All the major cruise lines have ships that visit the US which means crew must have a C1D1 Visa to work onboard. Additionally, some crew may be expected to transit the US when flying to another country (also requiring a C1D1 Visa). Like you mentioned, river cruise lines have vessels that stay in Europe…this may be an option for you. You could also try Costa Cruises, MSC Cruises, and P&O Cruises as they have plenty of ships that stay in Europe.

  38. Hello Renee,

I just don’t know what to do again, am totally confused about the whole thing , believe me. I am from Nigeria. I applied for a position through a recruitment agency in South Afrcan, i was rejected, yesterday again i was rejected by Royal Caribbean Internationa Team. Please Renee what must i do to start my new life at sea, because i will never stop until i got my dream job. Please i advice? Thank you in advance!

    Israel John

    • Hi Israel, trying to get hired for a job on a cruise ship can be confusing and frustrating. It is a very competitive industry meaning that many people are applying for these types of jobs from all over the world. I understand that recruitment agencies in South Africa would expect that you have a South African passport. This will continue to be a problem for you with the larger cruise lines. You may have better luck with the smaller cruise lines like Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, or many others. Check out the Cruise Line Employment Info pages for links to some of these other cruise lines. Don’t give up…be persistent.

      • hi renee,

i just posted my resume to HR DIRECTOR of Viking River Cruises, now that i have done that, what i should i do now? Thank you

        Israel John, Nigeria

        • Hi Israel, assuming that you applied online through the Viking River Cruises website, the most important part of applying for cruise ship jobs is following up. Use the email address, [email protected] to follow up. When you follow up, always make mention to the date that you previously applied online, give a few highlights of the skills that are relevant to the job you applied for, and re-attach your resume. I would wait a couple weeks before following up.

  39. hello my name is dominique i live in chile. I want to know how can I apply for a job on a cruise, I have experience in the tourist area, and speak various languages such as French, English, Spanish, basic Portuguese. please i want the information needed to apply on a cruise. thank you very much

      • Hi Renee,

Thank you so much for the advice you gave me and the chance to be a part of your precious website. I must confess, your site is full of resources, especially for first timer like us. the Apollo-ships career site which you asked me to check yesterday, well their site is full job opportunity but it seems there was an error during the site creation, because i cant just upload my resume and picture, not just me but i think is a general problem to be treated. Or should i directly forward my resume their head office? Thank you

        Israel Ocholi John, Nigeria

        • Thank you for your positive feedback about the cruisejobdirectory website. As for applying on the Apollo website, try again. It may be they had technical issues one day. Who knows. Although Apollo doesn’t specify that they have a hiring partner in Nigeria, it is one site that actually gives Nigeria as a possible country to apply from. If you continue to experience problems with their website, you could always send them a hard copy of your resume and cover letter. You could also try V.Hospitality, they recruit globally, too.

  43. Hi,
I am from india i have more than 10yr experience in the field of sports fitness health club and recreation manager and trainer india and middle east i have a dream to join in cruise line. kindly advice me how to apply for youth activity manager or health club /recreation manager position because indian hiring partners are not sending on that category.
    Regards

    • With your experience, there are a few different types of cruise jobs you could consider. The fitness centres onboard cruise ships are managed by a concession. Read the article, How to Apply as a Cruise Ship Personal Trainer for more info. Unfortunately, I don’t see any contact information for hiring partners in India for Onboard Spa by Steiner. You could still apply through Canyon Ranch at Sea. Alternatively, you ask how to apply for the position of youth activity manager. Typically you would need to work as youth staff for at least a few contracts before being promoted. For that type of job, you could go through one of the hiring partners that we list in our Cruise Line Directory.

  44. Hi Cruise Jobs,

We would like to update our company details on Cruise Job Directory, but I was not able to find your email address. Please email me and I will send you our updated info.

    Thank you!

    • Just post your updated company details here and I’ll see to it that it gets changed in the directory. Thanks

  46. Hi i am mr. Suail Subba from Nepal.Actually i,m looking for cruise agents . Where i could call or sent my cv will be greatfull .

    • Unfortunately, in Nepal I am not aware of any hiring partners that recruit on behalf of the cruise lines (apart from security personnel positions).Instead, try applying online through a cruise line’s employment website. Here is our Cruise Line Employment information page.

  47. Hello, Thank you for the great information you provide. I have been working on cruise ships since 2004 and I have worked on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Cunard and P&O UK. However of late I have been researching on how to obtain employment with MSC cruise line. I am a Sound Engineer and I run shows in the theaters. I live in Canada and I have looked through the MSC website but they don’t seem to update their career section regularly. Do you know of any hiring partners of MSC cruise line either in North America or Europe? Thank you

  48. Hi.
I am from Costa Rica. I ‘d like to know if I need a Seaman Book to get a job on cruise ships . Or Is it enough with my passport?

    • You don’t need a Seaman Book to get a job on a cruise ship. Once you are working on a ship you can apply for one onboard or through your agent. Most cruise lines use a global network of authorized cruise line recruiting agencies. In Costa Rica, apply through Seven Seas Group for jobs with Royal Caribbean.

  50. actually i,m looking for cruise agents not french companies is their any contact or adress where i could call or sent my cv will be greatfull , because last time i have fall on scam company a guy who pretend he work for saga regards chris.

    • Hi Chris, the only agency located in France that represents cruise lines (Disney) that I have contact info for is the following:

      International Services (France Office)
      9 Rue Dupleix
      56100 Lorient
      France
      Tel: (+33) 2 97 84 98 80

      Fax: (+33) 2 97 84 04 22
      Email: [email protected]
      Website: http://www.internationalservices.fr

Other than that, other agencies represent applicants from France (but are located in other countries) as I have mentioned to you in a previous message.

  51. I am interested in auditioning as a singer in the September Auditions, do I need to register or send in anything before hand, or simply turn up on the day with my head shot and resume? Thanks.

    • Hi Emma, there are a number of auditions in September. Each cruise line/agent has specific audition requirements. I recommend you follow the links on the audition you are interested in for further details. Note that some are open calls while others require an appointment. In both cases, you should always show up with your resume and head shot. Typically, you need to register/sign in 30 minutes before an audition.

  52. Hi my name is arun i am from india ….its my drem to work on ship plz guid me how get the job

  53. Hi!
I have entertainment and acting experience on land, however have never worked on a cruise ship. I have applied everywhere, but am not sure if I have a chance!

I am so motivated and passionate, and I turn 21 in January 2015. Is there any advice you can give me?

  54. Hi there,
I have a few questions about river cruise ships:
    1. Which are the best companies?
    2. Salary for the housekeeping positions?

Can you give me the names of the companies where I can got a job fast.

And did you know which Ocean cruise company hire with a 19 years old?

    Thanks..

    • Most cruise lines require applicants be at least 21 years old, although if you have adequate experience, skills, education, exceptions have been made. There are many great river cruise lines, some with new ships coming out. Major river cruise companies include AMA Waterways, Avalon, Viking River Cruises, and Scylla Tours. While some of the companies hire directly through their website, also try the agencies Sea Chefs or Fleet Pro River.

  55. Hi my name is Rashesh Shrestha and i just finished my Higher diploma in hotel management and attended 6 months internship in a 5 star hotel in Malaysia. i have thought of working in the cruise line since many years ago. i am from Nepal and i am finding it hard to find a recruitment office here. i am trying to find out details about the cruise line job and i am interested in the F&B section of the cruise. it would be very helpful if you could provide me with the details and the the agency in Nepal that i can apply from.

    • Hi Rashesh, your diploma, internship and English language skills are valuable to your resume in your search for a cruise ship job. Unfortunately, in Nepal I am not aware of any hiring partners that recruit for F&B jobs on cruise ships. Instead, try applying online through a cruise line’s employment website. Here is our Cruise Line Employment information page.

  56. Hi,

Viet Dragon Travel, We are Vietnamese recruitment agent. We looking how to register for ticket of Cruise Job Fairs for Norwegian Cruise Line in August 2014

    Regrads !

    Mr. Peter Raffle

    • Hi Peter, the Norwegian Cruise Line job fair is only for applicants looking to work on NCL’s Pride of America ship. It employs only Americans because it it US-lagged. If you are interested in becoming an authorized hiring partner for NCL’s other cruise ships, I would suggest you contact NCL’s human resources department directly.

  57. Hi, I am from Colombia and I am a five years experienced assistant waiter for RCCL. However I had to resing due to a medical emergengy related to my mother and left without a fifteen days before hand notice reason why my status with rccl ended up resing not rehirable. Currently I am carrying out two processes one with NCL and another with DCL. In adition to that I speak protuguese and spanish… My questions are:

What are my changes to pass these interviews after my resignation with RCCL?

Would you be kind as to give me any tips for me to deal with this matter at the moment of my interviews?

    Thanks

    • It is odd that your status with RCCL is “not rehirable”. Typically the major cruise lines allow you to fly home (even on short notice) if there is a medical emergency and then come back to work when you are ready (especially after 5 years experience). I would further pursue your options with RCCL, explaining your circumstances and providing medical documentation if required.

Problems will probably arise when you are interviewing with NCL and Disney. They will probably question your statements regarding resigning and wonder what really happened and if there is some other issue as to why they aren’t rehiring you.

During your interviews, I would focus on the strengths of your resume…experienced waiter, multiple languages, customer service, sea time,….

Keep in mind that NCL uses the same recruiting partner as RCCL in Columbia and that’s Seven Seas Group. As for Disney, I’m not aware of any hiring partners in Columbia.

    • Thanks a lot for the info, I forgot to explain that I have already process an appeal on last march for me to be able to come back to RCCL. And they decide not to rehire me because of not providing them a before hand notice by the time I Ieft. Really they took it as an abandon job unfortunenately after providing all documentation about my mother medical status, that was their final decision. But due to my performance they provided a letter of employment certification. For other companies to verify .

And Mr Anthon smith Recruiment representative had a phone call with me and clearly stated that I could applied for other companies and go forwards with my carrier.

On the other hand I would like to have and advice about how to adress this matter at the moment of my interviews, If it is not to much of a trouble, Ouuh forgot VIP international is the official recruiter for DCL in Colombia that maybe useful for you to provide the info to someone else ,, wait for your promted advice Cause my DCL interview is next september and do not want to fail, thanks.

      • On the question of how to address this matter in interviews…i would just be honest. You could have a copy of the RCCL letter of employment on hand, to verify. As I mentioned previously, in an interview try to concentrate on the positives of your skills and experience. Typically, if you are given an interview, then they are interested. Many applicants don’t even get an interview. Also mention how you love working at sea, working with different nationalities, striving to exceed guest expectations, …all the things that cruise employers want to hear.

  58. Hello, I want to ask one question . My boyfriend is in this moment on a cruise job.We are getting married when he came back, it’s all set ;) and I want to know is there any chances for me to apply for job and to be both on the same ship the next time.He is satisfied for now, works as a bar server and he is building a carrier there. Thank you ,

    • Although the chances are not promising…it is not impossible. Because your boyfriend already has a cruise job, you at least have a contact name to help you apply. You should contact the hiring/manning agent that he uses, sending them your resume/cover letter package. You still need to convince the recruiter that you are also ideal for the job you are applying for. If you are hired, the agent can TRY to get you on the same ship as your boyfriend.

      • Hi,my name is Mayong; I am Cambodian. I really want to work on Cruise Ship and I have many experiences and education with Restaurant. It is difficult to contact for applying the job especially for Seachef .
Could you please advice for job agency contact for Cambodia(Khmer) ? or Can I contact for my application ?

        Thanks.

        • Hi Mayong, Sea Chefs is a recruitment partner for Hapag Lloyd Cruises, Ama Waterways, Luftner Cruises, Phoenix Reisen, Noble Caledonia, Swan Hellenic, Rijfers River Cruises, Scylla AG, TUI Cruises, and Voyages of Discovery. Many of the jobs that they have posted on their website indicate that you would need to know how to speak German. I don’t know of any cruise line recruiting agencies in Cambodia, but that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. You could try applying through agencies in Thailand.

          • i leave in South of France i have work on cruise before originally i,m from Mauritius , i don,t understand why in France their is no cruise company and when their will be a job fare for those who want to wotk on cruiseships as many can speak and talk English now

          • Hi Chris, there are plenty of cruise lines that hire French nationals, unfortunately many do not have job fairs. The best way to get hired by a cruise line is to apply directly through a cruise line’s website or through one of their authorized hiring partners. Click on this link for a list of approved agencies in France. If you are looking for French cruise lines try Ponant and CDF

  59. Hello there..My name is Clive and I am eagerly trying very hard to land myself a job at the Front Office on an international Cruise Line. I am from Goa, India, where I currently reside and work at the Taj Fort Aguada, a 5 star property and a member of one of Asia’s leading hotel companies. Come end of July and I will have completed 22 months at the Taj, with an overall work experience in customer service and hospitality of nearly 4 years. As a polite, courteous and well spoken receptionist who is highly efficient, having excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering the highest standards of hospitality and service to guests, I am eager to to secure the role of a Purser/Assistant Purser on a cruise liner and would want to know the best way to do so, as previous attempts to do so from my home country have proved to be anything but fruitful. Any sort of help or valuable info with regards to landing such a job would be greatly appreciated! Thanks….

    • Hi Clive, your experience at a 5-star hotel along with your English skills are what cruise lines are looking for. Take a look at the Directory of Authorized Cruise Line Hiring Partners for a list of approved agencies in your country of residence. Only work with an authorized agency so as not to fall for an employment scam. Make sure you also have a valid passport when applying for jobs.

  60. Are any of the cruise lines hiring for Ballroom Dancers. I know international and American styles.I have been dancing for 6yr and am 19yrs old. Thank you

    • Most cruise lines require their production show dancers to be at least 20 years old, although some will make an exception. Keep an eye on our Cruise Lines Audition section for upcoming auditions in your area. Many cruise lines also accept video auditions. Consider making a youtube video of your dance skills and attach it to a resume when sending it to potential cruise lines or agencies.

  65. I am a Ballroom Dancer and am interested in auditioning for a position on a cruiseship. I am having a hard time finding the companies that hire the entertainment for the curise lines. I would also love to teach ballroom on the cruise ship. Can you give me some direction on how to get an audition if I can’t afford to travle to the audition sites?

    • For starters, you could try Holland America. On their entertainment website, under the tab, Guest Staff, gives details on how to apply as dance instructors. A website you could look at is Rising Stars. They seem to be a legitimate talent agency, but I’m not aware of any of the cruise lines actually using them.

  66. Hi I’m Ann from Philippines, i would like to work on a cruise line in a position in line with accounting or finance. can you give details how should i do first .

    • A cruise ship job in accounting/finance is part of the Hotel’s purser/guest service department. Generally this type of job would be a job that would be promoted from within a cruise line. Although I have occasionally seen listings with Royal Caribbean. Most cruise lines use a global network of hiring partners to assist with their recruitment process. Check out the authorized directory of cruise line hiring agents in the Philippines.

  67. Hello there, Do you know what cruise companies actively hire couples? My partner and I met onboard and worked together (in different departments) for almost 2 years. We have left the company and are looking for new companies but are finding it hard to find any companies that openly hire couples!

    • As you have experienced, it’s not unheard of for cruise lines to employ couples. Getting hired as a couple is a different issue. For example, on Carnival Cruise Lines’ entertainment employment website it states, “Carnival Cruises Lines is a very couple friendly cruise line, and endeavours to allow couples to work on the same ship whenever possible… for the first contract it may prove difficult to keep them together on the ship… Carnival prefers to assess employees as individuals before committing to hiring them as couples.”

Comparatively, Royal Caribbean International states on their employment website, “each applicant is assessed individually based on his/her qualifications, and although every effort is made to accommodate couples to be assigned to the same ship, we cannot guarantee that they will be assigned to the same ship within a certain period of time.”

To get hired as a couple will definitely be a difficult task, but not impossible. Both of you must prove that you are the best candidate for the job you are applying for. But, even if you are both hired, you may not be placed on the same ship.

  68. Hi, I am from Grenada in the Caribbean and I’m interested in obtaining cruise ship employment. I have had over 3 years working in tourism and hospitality and also hold a B.Sc. in Tourism Management. Can you please advise me on how I can apply for suitable positions on any cruise line?

    • Your experience in hospitality and tourism will benefit your search for a cruise ship job. Depending on the actual work experience you have will determine which job you are more suited towards. Most cruise lines work with a global network of hiring partners to assist with their recruiting needs. Check out the following link for the cruise line hiring partners in Grenada.

  69. Hi, I am a graduate of computer engineering. Any related jobs for me? please help.
i wish to be on a cruise ship of any maritime jobs related to my field.

    • Thee are a couple of different career paths that you could try within the cruise industry. Within the hotel department, look into jobs in IT. Many cruise lines recruit for positions as a computer officer. Alternatively, the technical department of a cruise line recruits for electronic engineers. You can read How to Apply as a Cruise Ship Engineering Officer for more info.

  71. If you have auditioned for Disney Cruises, when should you assume you will not be offered a job? Auditions were in March in Vancouver and I was not cut. They said we would know in May.

    • If you were not cut and they said that they would let you know in May, you should definitely follow up. I remember that the Vancouver auditions in March were for contracts that would begin in June or July 2014. If they didn’t give you an email for you to follow up, try this email:
      [email protected]
In the subject line write something like “DCL Dance Audition March 2014 (Vancouver).
Or, try phoning the Harbour Dance Centre (TEL: 604.684.9542), where your audition took place. They may have better contact info for Disney’s casting directors.
FYI – the Talent Casting Director for Disney Cruise Line is Jennifer Mahoney.

    • Hi Whitney. Anytime is a good time to apply for a job with a cruise line. What type of job are you interested in? Check out the Cruise Line Employment Information pages for how to apply with each cruise line. Additionally, many cruise lines use a network of global hiring partners to assist with recruiting. Keep in mind that you should customize your resume and cover letter for each job and cruise line you apply for.

  73. how old do you have to be to work on a cruise ship?

    I’ll be 18 in august 2014,
Im finish with high school and i want to know the qualifications needed to work abroad a cruise ship

    • Hi Kelly. For starters, most jobs on a cruise ship require the applicant to be at least 21. It’s great that you are thinking ahead a possibly shaping your experience/skills into what you will need to work onboard. Each position onboard requires a different set of skills. For example, retail sales experience is a requirement to work as a Gift Shop Associate. To apply for work as Youth Staff, you’ll need experience working with kids of all ages. Potential candidates wanting to apply as Cruise Staff (adult activities) should have minimum two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, entertainment or recreational industries. A college/university degree is also preferred. Applicable diplomas/degrees for many of the positions include Travel and Tourism diploma, Business diploma/degree, Recreation and Sports Management diploma/degree. Alternatively, there are jobs that require more specific training such as Computer Officer, positions in Culinary Arts, and jobs in the Technical departments.

  74. Hi, I would really love to work on a ship to make a good start for me and my family in life, but I feel that a 6 month contract is too long for me to be away from my family for. Are there any 3-4 month contracts available at all for a bartender?

    • Typically, the cruise ship job as a bartender is one of those jobs that require the crew member to work 6+ months. Royal Caribbean states on their website this:
Assignments are determined by position, and length can vary based on the particular rank. Senior management hotel officers typically have four-month assignments, followed by eight weeks of vacation; marine officer assignments are generally ten weeks onboard followed by ten weeks vacation for senior positions, and seven weeks for more entry-level roles; assignments for all other positions average approximately four to six months working onboard, with six to eight weeks of vacation time.

  75. Hello

I am looking for a position in the boutiques on cruise ships but have no idea where to start looking for it I was wondering if you could point me in some direction for looking for this, I have worked on cruise ships before just in a different department

    Thanks

    • Since you’ve worked onboard, you probably are already aware that the boutiques are generally operated by a third party concession (depending on the cruise line). I just posted a new article, How to Apply for Cruise Ship Jobs in the Gift Shop. This should help point you in the right direction. Additionally, your experience working on cruise ships will definitely be an asset when applying for a different department.

  76. Hello there I am looking for full time employment in the cruise industry either as a deckhand or ship`s security. I served 11 years in the Royal Navy and I currently hold a valid SIA Door Supervisors/Security licence and is there anywhere that I could post my CV for employers to read

    • Your best option is to apply directly to the cruise line you are interested in working for. Check out the Cruise Line Employment Information pages for links to the various cruise lines. Additionally, many cruise lines use hiring partners to assist with their recruitment needs worldwide. Click on the country that you are from for links to hiring partners in your country of residence.

  77. I would love to join no wegian epic. What are the requirements and positions available i just left college after doing a hospitality course. I would love to be a waiter. Please help this is my dream

  78. Good day,

I am an executive sous chef currently employed by Costa cruise line and am looking to change companies and go to Disney Cruise line, however I do not know of who to reply to or which agent to use. I am based in South Africa being a South African citizen. I have all the documentation required for working on board which is all current. Please could you supply me with the correct contact details so that I may email all the necessary documentation to apply for the same position with Disney cruise lines

    • Having cruise ship experience is definitely an asset because it shows that you can work the long hours for months straight. Disney Cruise Line has plenty of resources for wannabee crew/officers on their employment pages. You’ll notice that there are couple ways to apply through Disney’s websites.

The Disney Cruise Line website details the “Hotel Operations” positions of Junior Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, and Demi Chef de Partie/Commis Chef. To apply on the Disney Cruise Line website, click on their “Search Jobs” tab that will allow you to “View Shipboard Opportunities”. Select “Food and Beverage/Galley” to give a list of Search Results. When I try this today it gives three results (Chef de Cuisine, Chef de Partie, and Junior Sous Chef) that were posted in July 2013, which I assume that they are continually recruiting for. You can apply directly through their website.

Alternatively, the Disney Parks Careers website lists the positions, Chef de Cuisine and Chef de Partie. FYI – They are the same postings just on an alternate Disney website.

As you mentioned, Disney Cruise Line uses a hiring partner located in South Africa. The name of the Disney’s hiring partner in South Africa is Gourmet International. They are also the hiring partner for Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Samantha Hurley is the Recruitment Manager at Gourmet International and her email address is [email protected] but Disney Cruise Line gives the email address as [email protected] (both go to the same place).

  81. Hi,

I am a deck officer and holder of OOW unlimited CoC with a medical examination certificate from France – they say that it is accepted as an ENG1 – and I have more than 5 years of experience on cargo ships. I want to start my career on cruise ships but I have some doubts about a common idea which I read at almost all websites. They say that usually they hire officers from countries such as Norway, Greece, Holland, UK, etc. I just want to know if I dont have any chance (only because of my nationality – Turkish) to be hired as a deck officer not to try for something that I will never obtain.
Thank you for your kind interest.

    • You are correct to assume that the majority of deck officers in the cruise industry are from UK, Italy, Norway, and Greece. Although there may be few if any Turkish officers working on cruise ships, I wouldn’t want to deflate your dream. With the industry constantly growing, the demand for qualified officers is growing as well. With your Officer of the Watch Unlimited licence, you have the qualification to be a Third Officer. Most cruise lines expect you tho have your Chief Mate licence to be a Second Officer in order to be a senior officer in charge of the watch (two watch keepers per watch). You will also need to have your valid advanced fire fighting, GMDSS, and ECDIS certifications. Cruise lines use hiring partners to assist with their recruitment process. Click on the link for a list of those agents in Turkey.

  84. Hi!
    Good Day!

I am a new graduate from the Philippines (Butuan City) associated with the course of Bachelor of Science in Tourism. I had my internship at Puerto Princesa Palawan and El Nido Palawan Philippines, I’m in the Information Department and one of the Receptionist. I would like to ask if there is a vacant position for receptionist. I know I don’t have a working experience but if you would give me a chance to work in the cruise ship I to have my first working experience for a life time in the cruise. I am very good in communication and dealing with different kinds of people. I have a pleasant and efficient manner.

    • Hello Stephanie, All the major cruise lines work with hiring partners to assist them with their recruiting needs worldwide. The best thing for you to do is to work with a few of the cruise lines’ hiring partners found in the Philippines. Only work with the authorized hiring partners as there are many that will take your money and not have the authorization to give you a job. here is the link to the cruise lines hiring partners in the Philippines

    • How unfortunate that you have been a victim of an employment scam. It really is a shame how these agencies prey on vulnerable job-seekers. This is one of the main reasons I started this website…to give job seekers the right information. Here is the link to some authorized cruise line hiring partners in India.

  90. As an Architect with experience of working on board as well as the recent working experience as an architect in China, I was wondering if there is any open position for designer, architect on shore ?

    • You would need to check out the employment pages of the various cruise lines for any current shore-side vacancies. You could also check with various shipyards. Get to know which cruise lines are building new ships, find out where they are being built and create a resume that would sell your skills. you could also use your LinkedIn connections for networking or to find available jobs.

  91. Hi.. i really want to have a job.and i wanted this so bad,,hope i can work to this campany,, i am a Filipino, i work in Offshore before but unluckily they just sent us all home,, im a Messman/ Steward..

  92. hi this ia franklin Almonte I am interested in working on cruise ship and I need you to tell me what I have to do in order to apply..ah from dominican republic.

  93. hi…just would like to any position in f&b depatmen service or room service tqt and age limit….how to apply…thanks

    • The minimum age to work on cruise ships is generally 21. Although there isn’t really a maximum age, you would need to be able to pass a strict medical exam to prove you are fit. The best way to apply to to utilize a hiring partner that is located in your country of residence. Only use authorized cruise line agencies and be aware of employment scams requesting money to apply. Here is a link to our Authorized Hiring Partner page.

  94. Greetings,
I am a British, fully qualified OOW unlimited (deck) and looking to shift from offshore vessels to cruise liners as I have always wanted to work on them, preferably something within the the Carnival owned companies. I have applied to various companies and agencies but getting a response is difficult and it seems that on the Carnival careers website they are not advertising any bridge position from junior officer right up to captain, are there any ways of getting direct contact with anyone? I have my CV ready to go with a professional looking picture to help…

    Thank you,
    Tom Maxwell

    • Hi Tom,
The Carnival Careers website only recruits for Cunard and P&O Cruises, which is one option, but you are right they currently aren’t advertising for deck officers. Click here for P&O and Cunard’s physical address to send a CV by mail.

Alternatively you could try Princess Cruises. They also recruit British officers. Candidates located in the United Kingdom and interested in Deck and Technical departments may submit resumes directly to the Princess Cruises Recruitment department in Southampton at [email protected]
      Telephone: (+44) 23 8065 5198
      Fax: (+44) 23 8065 7429

You may also want to read the article, “How to Apply as a Cruise Ship Deck Officer”. It lists a few more links to some other cruise lines as well.

And, I have one other HUGE tip for you. As you are probably aware, with the latest Manila amendments to STCW, passing an ENG1 medical is more difficult and causing some officers to not be “fit”. If you are currently in possession of your ENG1, make sure you mention this in your cover letter. It just may fast track your CV.

      Renee

      • Renee,

Thank you very much, great help and quick response! I have already emailed the Princess address previous so now to play the waiting game…
My ENG1 is valid until mid 2015 so Im safe for that anyway. Had my ticket since early October 2013 and been working as an AB since December 2012 after completing my cadetship, so Im itching to get my foot in the door and kickstart my career in the cruise line industry.

        Thanks again,
        Tom

        • Hi Tom,
Make sure you follow up on any emailed CVs that you send. For example, email the cruise line after a couple weeks following the date you first sent your CV. In the email, customize and paste your cover letter into the text of the email. Make sure you highlight the fact that you have a valid passport and ENG1. Try to follow up every two weeks, re-customizing the cover letter each time and pointing out something different. Try to get the name of an actual recruiter…LinkedIn is a good source for HR contacts…and make a telephone call. Be persistent but professional. Hope these tips help. Let me know your progress.

  95. Greetings i would like to know if there is any position available at the moment thank you

    • Although this isn’t a site that posts actual job listings, there are plenty of cruise lines and cruise line recruiters that are actively recruiting. What type of cruise ship job are you interested in? Then, I can point you in a direction that can further help you.
      Renee

    • You can refer to the various cruise lines’ employment pages for current job openings. For example, Celebrity Cruises has these openings in guest relations. • hi my name is sharen and iam seacking so bad to work on a cruise line iam from nicaragua but in my country we dont have any agent to represent us , can u give me and option how i can aplly online.
        warm regards.

        • Hi Sharen, the only cruise line recruiting agency in Nicaragua that I am aware of is Seaman Express Travel. They represent Norwegian Cruise Line in Nicaragua.

          • hii…I want to know that can i get job in cruise after completion of hotel management course.

          • Although you have completed a hotel management course, this doesn’t guarantee a cruise ship job. When building your resume, concentrate on work experience that relates to a focus on F&B, Guest Services, and Housekeeping. Take a look at our pages on Cruise Line Employment info for company details and how to apply with each. Additionally, most cruise lines use a global network of recruiting partners to assist with their recruiting needs. Here is our global Directory of Cruise Line Hiring Partners.
